Reward the Good Things.

WORKOUT:  3 MI/30 MIN

I ran this weekend.
Six miles yesterday (interval training 6 min run, 1 1/2 min walk)
Three miles today.  No walking.
I'm sore but it's a good sore.  The type that lets me know I did good.  I also followed each workout with a yoga routine for 30 minutes to keep the muscles stretched.  I really am noticing a difference.  Which reminds me...Dr. C wrote a 10wk prescription for massage therapy.  I really need to sign up for those!

The half marathon is a little over 2 months away.  ACK!!

I need to start increasing my distance.  I'd like to be at 6 miles without walking by the end of the month and interval training at 10 miles.  Since I think I should get a reward when I meet my goal, I thought it would be fun to ask my readers (whoever you might be *hi Kristen's mom and sister*) to give input on my reward.

Sooo...what reward should I receive if I met my goal at the end of the month?

Have a great week!!

  1. Ohhhh! What reward?!?! Wow, I think you deserve a spa day!

  2. I was gonna say a massage but since you have a prescription for those, that's not really a reward. What about a pedicure? Gotta take care of your feet!

  3. Hi... I guess I've been quietly following your blog through Kristen, but have been called out! :-)

After running a couple of half marathons, I'd have to say that the long runs are actually a reward in themselves. I guess it sounds cheesy, but when you've finished the long ones and you can say "yeah, I ran 10 miles today", it feels SO GOOD! You'll get there!! Another good reward for me was buying new running clothes... to keep up the inspiration!

And, the best post-long run recovery meal is a McDonald's chocolate milkshake and french fries. It works wonders! Good luck :-)

  4. Ahhhh!!!! I love the fact that not only do my mom and sister get called out on a blog... but my sister responds. How wonderful. In other AMAZING news... my sister is becoming an educator in Washington and maybe will join the Rainier family soon (keep your fingers crossed) :)
Keep rocking on the training Michelle. Miss you!
